European Union foreign policy coordinator Javier Solana says he is confident that Russia will respect a peace plan which calls for its forces to pull back from deep inside Georgia.
Solana has arrived in Georgia's capital Tbilisi, ahead of a European Union mission being deployed to monitor a Russo-Georgian ceasefire.
