The German foreign minister Frank Walter-Steinmeier has confirmed that a group of eleven European tourists who were kidnapped 10 days ago in the Egyptian desert have been released.
A military helicopter has flown the five Germans, five Italians, a Romanian and eight Egyptian drivers and tour guides to Cairo for medical examinations.
