The scandal surrounding contaminated milk products in China has widened.
The maker of one of China's best known sweets, White Rabbit candy, said it was halting domestic sales after its products were found to contain the toxic chemical melamine. The company, Guanshengyuan, had previously recalled its exports to 50 countries. So far, more than 53,000 people in China have fallen ill and four children have died.
