Most victims were Pakistanis. Over 270 people were injured in the blast. Authorities in Berlin say seven Germans were wounded in the attack. Pakistani officials released video footage showing a heavy truck ramming a metal barrier and coming to a halt about 20 metres away from the hotel before catching fire. The footage does not show the actual explosion, which was heard throughout the capital and left a large crater in the ground. The truck was reportedly laden with 600 kg of explosives. Pakistan's new President Asif Ali Zardari has pledged to eliminate the "cancer" of terror in his country.
