43 people have died in a fire at a nightclub in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.
A government safety official said that the fire has also injured at least 88 people. The official Xinhua news agency said an initial police investigation showed that the fire was triggered by fireworks ignited during a performance in the club. Shenzhen is a city in Guangdong province just over the border with Hong Kong.
