Loud blasts 'heard' in Islamabad ... in his country after a suicide truck bomber killed at least 40 people at the Marriot Hotel in Islamabad.
President Asif Ali Zardari addressed the nation shortly after the blast and said he would do all he could to rid Pakistan of what he called the "cancer" of terror. Officials fear the death toll could rise even further as 200 more people were wounded in the explosion, including several foreigners. The US, Britain and the United Nations all condemned the attack.
