In Bundesliga action: Bayern Munich suffered a humiliating 5-2 home defeat against Werder Bremen.
Bayern's first defeat of the season denied them a chance to return to the top of the table, currently held by Schalke. However, disappointed Bayern fans will be able to drown their grief at this year's Oktoberfest which was officially opened in Munich on Saturday.
