Pakistan's new President, Asif Ali Zardari, has used his debut address to a joint session of parliament to warn terrorist groups and foreign powers to stop violating Pakistani territory.
Zardari's statement is a clear reference to recent cross-border attacks by US-led coalition forces based in Afghanistan. The US has increased air strikes in Pakistan's tribal areas on suspected hideouts of al-Qaeda and Taliban militants, who launch cross-border attacks on international forces in Afghanistan.
