The ODS today called on Morava and Tlusty to give up their seats in the Chamber of Deputies.

The daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) reported earlier this week that Morava tried to collect discrediting information about various deputies regardless of their party membership and planned to abuse the material to blackmail them.

Tlusty nodded to a plan of a TV Nova reporter and let Nova produce fake compromising photographs of himself.

The fake photographs were then offered to politicians and lobbyists, including Morava, who allegedly tried to gather sensitive information on his colleagues.

Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek (ODS) said the media and Tlusty are to blame for the scandal, while he considered Morava rather a victim. He said he believes Tlusty, a rebel among the Civic Democrats, initiated the whole case.

Topolanek called on Tlusty to leave the lower house over the scandal, which Tlusty rejected.

Topolanek said Morava should consider his resignation, too.

Tlusty said his cooperation with Nova reporters was an efficient defence against practices that his political opponents used against him.

MfD wrote that Morava had asked the fake detectives for pictures of Zubova's daughter. He wanted to use the pictures to discourage Zubova from voting against the coalition, the paper said.
