At least twelve people have been killed and 50 injured in a blast which ripped through a security checkpoint outside Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar.
Police say the death toll is likely to rise as a building collapsed in the explosion. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Al Qaeda-linked militants have set off numerous bombs in Pakistan over the past year, many of them in the northwest and aimed at security forces.
