German Defence Minister Franz Josef Jung has visited Mazar-I-Sharif, home to the largest garrison of German troops in Afghanistan.
After visiting a Bundeswehr base in Kunduz on Tuesday, Jung said the current situation in the area was very tense. In recent days there have been multiple attacks on Bundeswehr soldiers, and one week ago an attack killed a German non-commissioned officer.
