The citizens can find basic information in newspaper ads, and more details on the government's web page," the press release quotes Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek (ODS) as saying. The advertisements, swallowing up 98 percent of the campaign costs, focus on the changes the cabinet has pushed through since it was established in early 2007, mainly in the health, security and state administration area. The government elaborates on the information on its website, providing concrete figures and statistics from ten areas. "We expect [the campaign] to make people better informed and to help launch a public debate on our steps," Topolanek is quoted as saying. The regional elections and the first round of the Senate elections are due on October 17-18 and the second round of the Senate polls a week later.
