Global Media Forum in Bonn wraps up second day ... United Nations mission in Afghanistan says it has found what it calls "convincing evidence" that 90 civilians, including 60 children, were killed in an airstrike last week.
The United States military initially denied that any civilians were hurt in Friday's airstrike in the western province of Herat. It first said the attack killed 30 militants, but later promised to launch an investigation after Afghan villagers staged angry protests. Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the operation, which allegedly bombed mourners who had gathered to mark the death of a local militant leader. Afghanistan's government is now demanding a review of the presence of US and NATO troops in the country, and their use of airstrikes in civilian areas.
