Zimbabwe's main opposition party has decided to boycott the opening of parliament.
Spokesperson for the Movement for Democratic Change, Nelson Chamisa, said the party did not expect to be addressed in the parliament by President Robert Mugabe until power-sharing talks were resolved. Global Media Forum continues ... sharing arrangement. The MDC does not recognise Mugabe as the country's legitimate leader, and wants to see its own chief, Morgan Tsvangirai, given executive power. The MDC won legislative elections in March. Mugabe won an uncontested presidential election in June, though the poll was condemned internationally for violence against opposition supporters.
