Thousands of Zambians have been mourning the death of President Levy Mwanawasa, as his body returned home on Saturday.
Mwanawasa was flown in from Paris, where he died last Tuesday following treatment for a stroke he suffered in Egypt. Mwanawasa will be given a state funeral on September 3, on what would have been his 60th birthday. The Zambian leader was well respected for tackling corruption turning the southern African nation into one of the continent's success stories.
