Turkish warplanes strike Kurdish rebels in Iraq ... to leave Iraq by the end of 2011. The spokeman stressed that these deadlines represented the Baghdad government's negotiating position, not an explicitly agreed text. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made an unannounced visit to Baghdad on Thursday but rejected any reports that an Iraqi-US troop deal had been agreed.
