The United States says that negotiations in world trade talks should resume in September to see whether a deal is still possible this year.
US trade negotiator Susan Schwab said the push should be made after holding talks with World Trade Organisation chief Pascal Lamy in Washington. He was in the US capital following a trip to India last week as he tries to broker compromises between Washington and New Delhi that led talks to collapse in Geneva last month. It was primarily an impasse over special agricultural protection for developing countries.
