Global Media Forum continues ... in clashes in the southern city of Kismayu and in the capital Mogadishu.
Residents in Kismayu said that insurgents of the Islamist al-Shabaab group have won control of the port, which lies some 500 kilometres south of Mogadishu. Islamic militants have been conducting an Iraq-style insurgency since the beginning of 2007 when an Islamist-controlled government was overthrown by Ethiopian forces.
