A Kenyan whistle-blower has returned to his homeland after three years of self-imposed exile.
John Githongo is to address a public anti-graft forum in Nairobi. He fled to the United Kingdom in fear for his life after he exposed a government scam in which state contracts were secretly awarded to phantom firms. The anti-corruption chief's work forced the resignation of several visitors, including the then vice-president. Githongo had been appointed by President Mwai Kibaki to oversee the fight against graft, which remains embedded in the east African country.
