ODS-Dopravni stavby Ostrava will provide compensation to them as well. The sum will depend on the extent of the harm they suffered, Sabik said. The company will introduce a special phone line 844 02 02 02 as of Wednesday for people to claim compensation and get more information. A similar phone line was launched by the Czech Railways (CD) company shortly after the accident. About a hundred people have used it so far, but no compensation has been paid out for the time being, CD spokesman Petr Stahlavsky told CTK today. The other company involved in the Studenka bridge construction, Boegl&Krysl, also wants to compensate the victims, but it is yet to decide how. The firm's Czech managers must yet discuss the step with the German co-owner, Josef Krysl, the company's general director, has told reporters. Last week the police levelled accusations against two Boegl&Krysl's managers who had been in charge of the bridge project. According to the police, the suspects had known about a defect in the bridge's structure and they failed to take the necessary measures. The two have dismissed the accusations, saying the bridge was stable in the moment of the catastrophe. ($1=16.673 crowns)
