Speaking at a news conference at the United Nations in New York, Vuk Jeremic said he had asked for a motion to be put before the next annual session of the UN General Assembly, opening in mid-September, backing referral by Serbia of the issue to the Hague-based ICJ. More than 40 states have so far recognized Kosovo's declaration of independence.
