The annual inflation rate in the 15 countries of the Eurozone has hit a record 4.1 percent.
The EU's statistics office Eurostat said the economy was still being burdened by surging oil and food prices, a strong euro and a slowdown in other major industrialized nations. Unemployment was also up slightly in the Eurozone hitting 7.3 percent. The German unemployment rate is 7.7 percent. 3.2 million people were without work in July, that's 50,000 more than the month before. Seasonally adjusted figures fell by 20,000.
