Passengers have begun to feel the impact of a Lufthansa strike, as 70 flights were cancelled on Tuesday.
The start of the strike by ground personnel on Monday had caused few disruptions in the busy holiday season, due to precautionary measures taken by Lufthansa. Nuremberg relegated - Werder second ... said the strike would later spread to Berlin's two airports, Tegel and Schönefeld, as well as Stuttgart and Nuremberg in the south. The union is demanding 9.8 per cent more pay for 50,000 ground and cabin staff. Lufthansa, Europe's second biggest airline, has offered 6.7 percent.
