Indian police say they have found and defused 18 unexploded bombs in Surat, a city 280 kilometers south of Ahmadabad.
Three days ago synchronized blasts killed up to 50 people in Ahmedabad, the state's main city. A little-known Muslim militant group called the Indian Mujahedin claimed responsibility for the bombings and warned of more attacks against Hindus. Police said that they had also defused three bombs in the neighboring state of Rajasthan.
