Ganley informed Klaus about the activities of the group that had stood up against the Lisbon treaty before the June referendum. Klaus is one of the few senior European politicians to have welcomed the Irish rejection of the Lisbon treaty. Czech member of the European Parliament Jan Zahradil (the Civic Democratic Party, ODS) also met Ganley. Zahradil told the paper Lidove noviny that Ganley's movement Libertas wanted to draft a ticket for the EP elections next year. Zahradil makes no secret that Irish euro-sceptics could be a partner of the ODS in the EP.
