Deutsche Bahn looks set to move aheda with partial privatisation ... demands for a pay hike has disrupted flight operations of two Lufthansa domestic subsidiaries.
Lufthansa has reportedly cancelled hundreds of flights by its Eurowings and CityLine units, which operate short-haul connections within Germany and across Europe. The flights are expected to be grounded for 36 hours from midday on Tuesday. The pilots union, Cockpit, called the strike with only two hours of warning to back up their demands. However, some flights were expected to continue as the union does not represent all the pilots employed at the two airlines. The last walkout two weeks ago led to some 600 flights being cancelled.
