Formula One championship leader Lewis Hamilton has put McLaren on pole position for Sunday's German Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old Briton will start the race ahead of Brazilian Felipe Massa in a Ferrari at the front of the grid. The pole was Hamilton's third of the season and ninth in 27 Formula One starts. Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel was the highest placed German driver with ninth place.
