The victory would hand him a majority of "pledged" delegates ahead of the nomination convention in August. With nearly half of the votes counted official results gave Obama a lead of 60 per cent to 40 per cent for Hillary Clinton. But Obama remains short of the 2,025 total delegates needed to seal his candidacy for the November 4 presidential election. Earlier Clinton won Kentucky's primary beating Obama by a large margin of votes. The New York senator vowed not to give up until after the Democratic primary season ends on June 3.
