Gaza emergency services say four Palestinians have been killed in a series of Israeli attacks.
Israeli military confirmed it had conducted air raids targeting Palestinian militants in the Gaza strip. A spokeswoman said one strike was conducted against a group of Palestinians who planted a bomb near a security post on the border with Israel and another air raid targeted militants who had fired rockets. Hamas said two of its fighters were killed in the Israeli attacks. Despite the violence, Israeli defense officials said an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire could take effect within days.
