19.05.2008 - Library calls on Prague to sell plot for its new building - web
NK director Vlastimil Jezek reminded Bem that the city hall pledged to sell the plot at Prague-Letna for 30 million crowns some in spring 2006.
Jezek said previously there had been no reason anymore why the city should not sell the plot to the library.
He informed the Culture Ministry that if the city hall cancelled its decision on the sale, NK would demand that its costs related to the construction be covered.
Jezek also asked Bem to extend by two years the NK's deadline for presenting the permission for the construction and documents on its financing.
The Culture Ministry recently said it had not the required funds for the construction.

Teams of experts and politicians have been discussing the circumstances of the new library's seat for a couple of months now and the NK fears that it will not have the new premises in time.
The NK badly needs a new building because it is running out of capacity and the conditions for keeping books are not suitable.
