German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for cooperation on biofuels at a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The two leaders met in Brazil's capital on the first day of Merkel's Latin-America tour. The Chancellor urged Brazil to continue to produce ethanol for bio-fuels, but stressed that they had to be harvested "in a sustainable way".
