German Chancellor Angela Merkel has arrived in Brazil during her first state visit to Latin America.

Bug hunt finds Brazil 'mummies' ... an EU-Latin America summit, which is to take place at the end of the week in Peru. Merkel's regional visit comes amid a row with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
