Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has compared German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
During his Sunday television and radio programme, Chavez said that Merkel, of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, was part of the same political right that had supported Hitler and fascism.
