The United States and Russia are due to sign a landmark agreement on nuclear energy cooperation.
The proposal outlines a two-decade plan in developing reactors and storing and shipping uranium and nuclear materials. The signing comes on the last day of Vladimir Putin's presidency. The move towards nuclear cooperation comes after Moscow's aid in building Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor caused US outrage last year.
